Flirting with the Lancashire and Cumbria border this 7-mile walk meanders through ancient woodland before revealing the splendour of Morecambe Bay.

Starting at the small and often crowded National Trust car park at Eaves Wood, the path follows the edge of Eaves Wood whilst revealing glimpses of Silverdale village before making a brief crossing of Holgates Caravan Park on the way to Arnside Tower. Sadly it is now is a state of decay but one can imagine how land owners would take refuge from the marauding Scots.

The path then takes us past the farm of the same name and across the road to one of the many paths within Arnside Knot. Avoiding the climb to the trig point, which admittedly does offer some fine views over Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells, the path meanders through more ancient woodland before a distant view of Grange over Sands appears through the trees.

A shoreline walk that includes Blackstone Point offers up the panoramic expanses of Morecambe Bay from sea level. A word of warning, for the unfamiliar the tides can catch out many a walker who has ventured out onto the sands.
Moving from shoreline to a defined path that continues to hug the coastline before finally exiting through another caravan park and a short transition before entering Eaves Wood and the return leg to the car park.
